Tactic Remote 1.7.0: Multi-Agent AI Coding, Git Worktrees, and Better Mobile Control

v1.7.0 is an important shape change for Tactic Remote. The app is no longer centered around a single AI coding agent. It now helps developers organize multiple agents, branches, and sessions from their phone.

The main idea of this release is simple: turn iPhone and iPad into a mobile control surface for multi-agent AI coding.

You can choose Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or Sourcegraph Amp inside Tactic Remote; create and switch sessions across Git worktrees; and respond more quickly when an agent is waiting for input. If you often step away from your computer but still want to supervise coding agents, these changes affect the daily workflow directly.

Control Claude Code, Codex, and Amp From Your Phone

When creating a new session, Tactic Remote can now run different AI coding agents:

• Claude Code: a strong fit for planning, confirmation, and steady iteration.
• OpenAI Codex: useful when the goal is clear and you want fast execution.
• Sourcegraph Amp: useful when you want another angle on an implementation path.

After you choose an agent, session management, output, notifications, and quick controls still live in the same mobile experience. Switching agents does not mean rebuilding your whole set of windows, paths, and context.

The agents do not all interact in exactly the same way, and Tactic Remote does not force them into one identical UI. What we unify is the high-frequency workflow: create a session, read output, send prompts, handle blockers, and move between contexts.

Git Worktrees Become a More Natural Branch Workflow

Git worktrees are especially useful for AI coding. You can let multiple agents try different branches of the same repository in parallel, instead of packing every experiment into one working directory.

v1.7.0 makes Tactic Remote understand worktrees more directly:

• Choose from available worktrees when creating a session.
• See sessions grouped by repository and worktree in the sidebar.
• Use branch badges to identify which worktree you are looking at.
• Move faster between different implementation paths.

This becomes especially powerful with multiple agents: one task can run in different worktrees with Claude Code, Codex, and Amp trying separate approaches. On your phone, you see sessions organized by branch instead of scattered terminal windows.

The Quick Keyboard Bar Fits Agent Interaction Better

AI coding agents often wait for small terminal inputs: press Enter to continue, answer y/n, trust a directory, or respond to an update prompt.

v1.7.0 detects these waiting states and expands the quick keyboard bar automatically, putting Enter, Y, N, Esc, and other common actions within reach. You no longer need to open the bar manually before tapping the obvious next action.

The bar opens automatically, but it does not close automatically. Agent sessions often produce several prompts in a row; having the UI flicker open and shut is more distracting than useful. Opening is handled by the system. Closing stays under your control.

The Mac Companion App Can Update In Place

The Mac menu bar companion app can now check for updates and install them in place. For future Mac-side releases, you do not need to return to the download page and fetch a DMG manually every time.

iOS and Mac clients also communicate compatibility more clearly when they connect. Older and newer versions can still work together, but if a feature needs an update, the app now tells you directly.

Localization and Stability Improvements

This release also cleans up localized copy across eight languages. Agent selection, worktree selection, Codex / Amp descriptions, and related UI strings have been brought up to date.

On stability, v1.7.0 fixes several issues that could interrupt daily use:

• Some sessions could stay stuck in "syncing" for too long.
• Deleting one session could incorrectly affect another session with a similar path.
• Connected servers did not always apply agent setting changes immediately.
• Sidebar grouping could become inaccurate after an agent changed directories inside a session.
