First 10 Minutes with Tactic Remote

This guide is for the first-time user who wants one outcome: get to a working remote session quickly and safely.

Minute 0-2: Prepare the host

On your Mac:

• Ensure Claude Code and tmux are available.
• Launch the Mac companion/server.
• Confirm your API key and host endpoint are visible.

Minute 2-5: Choose your connection mode correctly

Use local network first unless you specifically need remote internet access.

• Local mode: faster and simpler for same-network usage.
• Cloudflare mode: use when you need off-network access.

Minute 5-7: Connect and validate state

After connecting from iPhone:

1. Confirm session list loads.
2. Open or create a session tied to your target project path.
3. Check terminal output is updating.

If you see a blank-looking state after reconnect, refresh session context before triggering Start.

Minute 7-10: Start safely

Use Start once and let runtime state settle.

• If Claude is already running, avoid duplicate start actions.
• Keep an eye on notification flow for completion events.

Use Sessions and Start Workflow for the stable routine.

Final checklist

Before ending your first run, verify:

• connection remains stable for several minutes,
• task output streams correctly,
• reconnect returns to expected session context,
• completion signals are visible.

Do this once and your daily workflow becomes dramatically smoother.
