Tactic Remote Open Beta: Available Now for Mac and iPhone

Today, we're opening Tactic Remote to every developer. After four months of private beta testing with over 500 developers across 30 countries, we're confident the product is ready for broad use. Starting now, anyone can download the Mac companion app and iPhone client and begin running Claude Code sessions remotely.

What Is Tactic Remote?

For those new to the project: Tactic Remote lets you monitor and control Claude Code sessions from your iPhone while your Mac handles execution. Think of it as a remote control for your AI pair programmer — you can start tasks, review progress, approve sensitive operations, and receive completion notifications, all from your phone.

This solves a real problem. AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code can run for minutes or hours on complex tasks. Without Tactic Remote, you're tethered to your desk, watching a terminal. With Tactic Remote, you start a task and go about your day. Your phone tells you when it needs attention.

What's Included in Open Beta

The open beta includes everything we've built and tested over the past four months:

Mac Companion App — A lightweight macOS application that manages your Claude Code sessions through tmux, exposes a secure API for your iPhone, and handles session persistence across restarts and sleep cycles. System requirements: macOS 13+ with Claude Code and tmux installed.

iPhone App — A purpose-built iOS client that provides real-time terminal streaming, conversation-style session viewing, one-tap approval for sensitive operations, and push notifications for task completions. Requires iOS 17+.

Two Connection Modes — Local network mode for same-network usage with sub-100ms latency, and Cloudflare Tunnel mode for remote access from anywhere in the world. Both modes are encrypted and authenticated.

Human-in-the-Loop Approvals — Claude Code's hook system integrates with Tactic Remote to push approval requests to your phone. You review what the AI wants to do and approve or reject with a single tap. This keeps you in control without requiring you to watch the terminal.

Multi-Language Support — The interface is localized in English, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, French, German, and Spanish, with more languages planned.

What's Next

Open beta is a milestone, not a finish line. Our roadmap for the coming months includes:

• iPad optimization with multi-pane session viewing
• Windows client general availability (currently in preview)
• Team features for shared session monitoring
• Enhanced approval rules for power users who want granular auto-approve policies
• Performance improvements for Cloudflare Tunnel mode latency

Setup takes about 10 minutes:

1. Download the Mac companion app from our Download page.
2. Install the iPhone app from the App Store.
3. Follow the Getting Started guide for step-by-step setup.
