Tactic Remote

Connect Windows with your account

Improved compatibility, account sign-in, and remote connections between the mobile app and Windows devices.

These account and Relay steps require version 1.10 on the mobile app and a compatible Windows companion. If the store or download page still offers 1.9, wait for the compatible update; its account interface may differ.

  1. Install and open the Windows companion from Downloads. Keep its server running. Install and sign in to your preferred coding agent on this PC first.
  2. In the Windows Account page, sign in to your Tactic account in the browser and allow it to return to Tactic Remote. Choose Bind this PC if it is not already bound.
  3. Enable Tactic Relay for remote access and wait until it is connected. Local network and Relay access can stay enabled together.
  4. Sign in to the same Tactic account on iPhone or iPad. Open Your Computers from the connection screen or the home screen’s top-right menu, select the Windows PC, and connect.
  5. Select a project folder on that PC, create a conversation, choose an installed agent, and start it.

Accounts and folders

Your Tactic account finds and authorizes computers; it does not sign you in to Codex or other agents. The agent runs with the provider account configured on the selected computer. Each computer needs its own agent setup.

In a virtual machine, a path such as \\Mac\Home\Documents is a shared Mac folder accessed by Windows. It does not by itself mean the session is running on the Mac. Start with a local Windows folder such as C:\Projects\demo to avoid shared-folder permission restrictions.

If the PC is missing or offline

Check that both apps use the same Tactic account, that the PC is bound, and that Relay is connected. A sleeping PC or a stopped companion cannot accept remote connections. Refresh the computer list; if authentication is requested, sign in again. LAN QR codes are for reachable local addresses and do not replace account-based Relay access. Cloudflare Tunnel remains an optional, separately configured connection method.

Privacy and access

Account settings let you manage linked computers and revoke device access. Signing out is different from unbinding a computer or deleting an account. See the Privacy Policy for account data and deletion details.
